Andrea K. Boggild, MSc, MD, FRCPC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and is the Clinical Director of the Tropical Disease Unit in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Toronto General Hospital. In addition, she is the Parasitology Lead for the Public Health Ontario Laboratories. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, and a Master of Science degree in Parasitology, Dr. Boggild entered medical school at the University of Toronto. She completed her post-graduate medical training in Medical Microbiology and received a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is a CPSO recognized specialist in Infectious Diseases. As a Clinician Scientist in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, she maintains ongoing international research and clinical collaborations in the fields of leishmaniasis, and travel and migration health.
